Coronavirus: Make Sanitary Materials Available At Worship Centres - CAN - Religion

Following the first confirmed case of the new Coronavirus disease in Nigeria, the Nigeria Christian Association urged religious centers in the
country on Saturday to make sanitary materials such as soap and hand disinfectants available in worship centers from Sunday.

This was contained in a statement in Abuja by the acting Secretary-General Joseph Daramola.

The organization called on Nigerians to avoid panic, self-medication and crowded places.

The statement said: “CAN urges every church to make water, soap, and disinfectants available to worshipers before and after the service, starting on Sunday.

“We appeal to all Nigerians, regardless of their religious and political beliefs, to regularly embrace simple security rules.

“We are calling on the three levels of government to take up the challenge of the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) now that the country has registered its first case.

"For our part, we will not stop praying until the disease has been driven from our shores."
