The Ughelli community in Delta State is in heat after alleged pastors with soldiers came to attack the community that killed about 14 residents and wounded many.
The Delta state governor who visited the site regretted that the soldiers they served came with the shepherds who devastated communities like Avwon, Uwheru and many others. Some of them were arrested. Other interrogations revealed that these were actually soldiers who had recently been recruited by the federal government by former insurgents.
The damage caused to the affected communities was enormous when residents complained about their regrets. Farms, buildings and lives were lost and thousands were relocated. However, the governor assured the people that the police will deal with the problems and that the government will do everything possible to alleviate the plight of the people affected.
The governor also sympathized with the people affected and urged everyone to abide by the law and not take laws.
